The Committee

To Book onto this awesome holiday, follow this link!! : http://www.outgoing.co.uk/student-ski/trip/3181/

Committee Roles + Perks

Thinking of going for committee? Give this a once over to see which position would best suit you.

President:

  • To oversee the running of the club
  • Supervision of all club activities, training, competitive or social
  • Responsible for the behaviour of members during club activities
  • Supervision and delegation of other officers in the completions of their duties
  • To lead the club development plan
  • To be the main contact for Sport Liverpool
  • To arrange and chair regular committee meetings
  • To lead the organisation for fresher’s fair and any promotional material
  • To seek sponsorship with support from treasurer

Whilst carrying a lot of responsibility and making key club decisions can be difficult, the role of club president is very rewarding. Running one of the biggest clubs in the AU alongside your studies will offer bags of experience in people and time management. Interest is required in all areas of the club with club development being paramount throughout the year. Skills such as good negotiation, effective delegation and the ability to make important decisions sometimes under pressure are routinely required.

Vice President and Communications Officer:

  • To work closely with the president and to ensure the delivery of all the above points
  • To act on behalf of the president if unavailable
  • To take an active role in producing the club development plan
  • To attend all committee meetings and support any club initiatives
  • Organise Chill factor-e trips and lessons
  • Update Facebook pages regularly
  • To keep the website up to date to ensure potential and existing members can get information about the club.
  • Help promote social activities
  • Help communicate information within the club
  • To attend all committee meeting and support any club initiatives

Vice President requires the ability to watch over all areas of the club and play an active role in these areas. Work will often be carried out in everything from holiday organisation to racing. Whilst the treasurer takes much responsibility in booking the trip/coach and taking prior payments, as Vice President you are expected to promote chill-factor, organise beginner lessons and ensure the trips run smoothly. The ability to make key decisions alongside the capability to use technology to enhance club communication is routinely required.

Treasurer:

  • To ensure all club members join club Liverpool
  • To collect all trip fees whether it be racing or social via our unique PayPal banking system
  • To attend all committee meeting and support any club initiatives

This role will get you to explore the entire spectrum of the club and gives a fantastic foundation and understanding of essentially, how a small business works. Snowriders have pioneered the use of banking technology to make this job easier for both yourself and members. Treasurer isn’t simply about through staring at spreadsheets all day, it will give you the opportunity to explore the world of snow sports and find new and exciting sponsorships and charities we can work with. If you’re the friendly entrepreneurial type who knows how to look after a few bob and use a bit of tech now and again, then this job is for you.

  • To have a diary of proposed socials as early as possible in the year
  • To make effective use of communication methods to advertise socials
  • To work closely with Holiday Secretary to organise holiday socials
  • To attend all committee meeting and support any club initiatives

Being social secretary of such a social club is all about keeping on a friendly face, welcoming new members, making sure everyone knows what is going on and having a good time wherever we are! This role will require the generation of new and exciting ways of integrating the clubs many areas. As well as sorting drink offers, organising meals and deciding fancy dress, social secretary will be responsible for any club targets contracted with sponsors.

Racing this year has been an integral part of the club and has transformed it from society to sports club. An individual is needed with high motivation and plenty of racing experience to ensure that the best skiers/boarders to hand are taken to events and represent the club. Decisions are not always easy as race captain and a strong head is needed to make sure the best decision for the club is made.
